In just two months, Oatly went from start-up to deployment of new forecasting tool.
The fast-growing and oat-based food and beverages company, Oatly, lacked a comprehensive forecasting support in their ERP. They decided to look for a solution and chose Optilon early on in the process of finding a project partner.
The project was launched in late September and shortly thereafter, in early December, the solution was deployed.
”It’s very important for us at Oatly, to combine both quality and efficiency in our work, especially during the growth phase we are in. We early identified a critical need of a more advanced and automated forecasting tool on our road to success. I already knew Optilon and the application SO99+, and wanted to elaborate on this.
Key to the project success was identification of the individuals and competences we wanted in the project team. We did this both inhouse and with Optilon, which founded good relations and dynamics throughout the journey.
I didn’t know that it was a record speed project, that was fantastic news and proof of our world class work!” said Masoud Zanganeh, Supply Chain Manager på Oatly.
”There’s an increased organisational complexity due to Oatly’s strong growth, but we still depend on reliable forecasts. This is why the project was a priority and was carried out with focus and a deliberately tight schedule.
Optilon was a very good partner in finding solutions to Oatly’s specific challenges, and we can deliver good quality forecasts just a few months after go-live,” commented Joakim Herlin, Business Controller på Oatly
Our sole purpose as a company is to make it easy for people to turn what they eat and drink into personal moments of healthy joy without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process.
Oatly was founded back in the 1990s and is based on Swedish research from Lund University. The company’s patented enzyme technology copies nature’s own process and turns fiber rich oats into nutritional liquid food that is perfectly designed for humans.
Today, the Swedish company remains independent and dedicated to upgrading the lives of individuals and the general well being of the planet through a lineup of original oat drinks.
The company operates out of the southern region of Sweden with Headquarters in Malmö and our Production & Development Center situated in Landskrona. The Oatly brand is available in more than 20 countries throughout Europe and Asia.
